Note: Even if we decide not to change any of our current rules, we can still incorporate the HOA. This would give us legal protection without changing any existing rules.

4. Other Comments or Suggestions



If we decide to update or change our rules and covenants, the following ideas have been discussed by some members:

• We do not want a “nanny state” HOA — We want reasonable rules, not excessive control over our daily lives.
• No unauthorized entry onto lots — HOA members or committees should never enter any property for inspections (including bug trees) without the owner’s permission.
• No access inside homes — The HOA has no influence or right to access anything inside our homes.
• Complaints should start with neighbors — HOA complaints should generally involve the nearest neighbors who can actually see the property. If the neighbors are not complaining, that should carry significant weight.
